Whenever possible, parents have a responsibility to affirmatively remove their children from public-school instruction that conflicts with their core beliefs or is otherwise harmful to children. In most states there is no passive process for preventing your children from being exposed to dangerous sex & gender theory ideologies and supporting curriculums, whatever their source. Even if you don’t sign the “Opt-In” forms for questionable instruction, your children can be exposed to harmful indoctrinating information in clubs, libraries, and other activities at school.

You must contact the school district, in writing, and notify authorities there that your child is to be excluded from all Sex‐Ed related instruction. You should also notify the specific school the child attends.

The following are suggested resources to OPT your children OUT from dangerous instruction.

WARNING. Under certain state laws (e.g., California), you cannot OPT-OUT your child from, “instruction, materials, presentations, or programming that discuss gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, discrimination, harassment, bullying, intimidation, relationships, or family and do not discuss human reproductive organs and their functions.” (§ 51932 (b)). For instance, there is no parental opt-out for discussions of these topics when they occur in humanities, social sciences, or other teaching forums where human anatomy is not also specifically discussed. Still, POK highly encourages parents to opt-out their children wherever possible.
